Friday 14 February 2025 - St Pancras, London
Our Doctoral Open Days are for any PhD students interested in working with our collection during their studies. Each Open Day showcases a different area of our collection, with the aim of making our materials as accessible as possible. Our Open Days give you the opportunity to:
• Understand how to access our collection
• Get expert advice from our Reference Specialists
• Speak with curators of collections relevant to your studies
• Meet researchers with similar research interests and develop your academic network
• Learn about research currently being undertaken at the British Library and our role as an Independent Research Organisation This event will be useful for students conducting research relating to the languages, cultures and societies of Africa, Asia, Europe, the Americas and Oceania.
Meet the curators of the British Library’s Americas and Oceania collections, Asian and African collections, and European collections, including our Visual Arts collection. For this session, we are also joined by Academic Librarians from Senate House, University of London, to offer insight into resources available in their Global Modern collections. In addition to meeting curators and librarians, you will hear from current PhD and postdoctoral researchers on their experiences working with our collections.
