Please find below the schedule, details of entering the poster competition and registration details of the  Royal Holloway Virtual Annual Doctoral Conference 11th June 2020

 

9.00-11.20 Enter the online poster competition (single Powerpoint slide shown using shared screen, 5 minutes presentation, 5 minutes open discussion). There are 12 slots available, we will add an additional slot if there is demand. There are prizes for the best 3 posters: 1st prize £300, 2nd prize £150, 3rd prize £75.  There will be a short break in this session at 10.05 am.

 

11.45-13.15 Workshop on the doctoral viva led by Professor Pam Denicolo, Emerita Professor, University of Reading  (maximum 35 attendees). 

Professor Denicolo is a chartered psychologist and honorary pharmacist and an advisor/consultant to universities worldwide on issues related to doctoral education. A very experienced doctoral supervisor and examiner, she also regularly provides workshops and has held leading roles in national and international organisations with doctoral education remits.  She is an honorary life member of the UK Council for Graduate Education (UKCGE)  and a regular contributor to the Society for Research into Higher Education (SRHE ) Professional Development Programme and lead convenor of the Postgraduate Issues Network. She edits and contributes to the Sage book series Success in Research (13 and counting), designed for those in the early years of a research career, and the Brill/Sense book series: Critical Issues in the Future of Learning and Teaching. As a leading constructivist Psychology researcher, she has supported >60 successful doctoral theses and currently collaborates internationally on research projects seeking to explore, understand and influence people’s perspectives on education, health and environmental/social issues.

 

14.00- 15.30  Journal Editors panel.  You can send in questions about articles and publishing beforehand which we would prefer, but there may be a period of time to ask questions in the session itself. 

 

16.00 – 17.00 Virtual end of year roundtable and virtual beverage/sandwich/cake consumption. How has the year gone and what should we be prioritising for 2020-2021?

Supervisors are also welcome to attend the poster presentation and the roundtable.
