Take part in our first Human Library – Wednesday 30th May (afternoon)

A Human Library is an event designed to encourage conversations that break down boundaries. Like any library, there are books and borrowers, it’s just that the books are people with a story to share about their experiences with an aspect of their identity.

For the first Human Library at Royal Holloway, we would like current and recent PGRs to share their stories, whatever these may be. Perhaps juggling a PhD with work or family commitments, or other challenges that PGRs might face.

On the day itself, the “books” will arrive early to design their book titles (materials provided). The borrowers will then choose a title that appeals to them and find the “book” it belongs to. They will then have a one to one conversation for about 30 minutes. We would plan for each “book” to have 2 conversations during the event. Refreshments will be provided.

If you are interested in being a “book” or a “borrower” at this event, please email Emma Burnett emma.burnettrhul.ac.uk for more information.
