Masterclass: Behavioural Science in Government

Overview: In collaboration with colleagues from the Government Office for Science (GO-Science), Centre-UB presents “Behavioural Research in Government” Masterclass. The masterclass aims to explain the role of GO-Science in supporting the government to make policy decisions based on evidence, including behavioural research evidence. GO-Science will also share how to access and engage with Areas of Research Interest (ARIs) and related research teams. The masterclass allows participants to gain insight into the breadth of behavioural research conducted within government and the teams engaged in that research.

19/05/2026 10:00 19/05/2026 17:00 Europe/London LSE DTP Policy Lab with the Independent Commission on Community & Cohesion LSE DTP Policy Lab with the Independent Commission on Community & Cohesion, Tuesday 19/05 10:00-17:00. The LSD DTP is hosting a policy lab with the Independent Commission on Community & Cohesion. The ICCC is a non-partisan commission set up to examine how communities can become more connected and why individuals in the UK report a growing sense of isolation and loneliness. The ICCC brings together 21 commissioners including former Chancellor Sajid Javid, former MP and Labour Party Policy Coordinator Jon Cruddas, President Emeritus of the Behavioural Insights Team David Halpern, and Former Chair of the British Medical Association Chaand Nagpaul. In the lab, students will be asked to determine the best data and analytical methods the ICCC should use to examine the topics it has been organised to address. As a team, students will work together to determine how they would design a research programme to examine community cohesion in the UK. Representatives from the ICCC will attend the lab and the findings on the day will, hopefully, have real world impact on the Commission’s work.
