Turnaround times for Research Degrees administration


 

The Research Degrees team in Student Administration always endeavours to process documents and respond to your emails as soon as possible.  To help you plan your own administration, see below the processing timelines you can expect.  Please note that these timelines are based on situations where paperwork submitted has been completed fully and signed.

 

5 working days

(rising to 10 working days in September and October due to the volume of work at that time of year)

  • All stages of the PGR exam process
  • Processing upgrade forms and queries
  • PGR tracking queries
  • Processing of  change of start date, change of mode or withdrawal forms
  • PGR studentship nomination forms and queries

 

Interruptions

All PGR interruptions are normally sent to the Dean of the Doctoral School for approval on a fortnightly basis.  Once we then receive the outcome, the Research Degrees team aims to process it within 5 working days (10 working days in September / October).  The total process could therefore take 3 - 4 weeks from the time the interruption request is submitted to AQPO (Academic Quality and Policy Office) via their online form.

 

Suspension of regulations requests

Suspension of regulations requests are processed by AQPO in the first instance.  Once the Research Degrees team receives the outcome of the request, we aim to process it within 5 working days (10 working days in September / October)
