Maintenance payments


How and when will I be paid my maintenance?

Please note that your maintenance payments cannot be made until you have fully enrolled for the new academic year and you have entered your UK bank details on Campus Connect.

  • Please note that this must be a UK bank account
  • You will receive an email within 24 hours to confirm that this change has taken effect

Payment dates 

  

Payment for new students

  • If you are a new student with a September start date:

    • Your first maintenance payment will not be processed until you have completed all stages of enrolment during Welcome Week and entered your bank details in Campus Connect.

    • If you have completed these steps, you should expect to see your first maintenance award in your bank account by Monday 17 October 2022.

    • If you are unable to update your bank details / complete enrolment during Welcome Week, don’t worry! You can expect payment of your maintenance within two weeks of your full enrolment.

    • After that, maintenance awards will be paid directly into your UK bank account on a quarterly basis (see table below).

  • If you are starting outside of the main enrolment period:

    • You should expect to receive payment of your maintenance within four weeks of your full enrolment, as long as you have entered your UK bank details on Campus Connect.

    • After that, maintenance awards will be paid directly into your UK bank account on a quarterly basis (see table below).

If you did not start in September, January or April, please contact the Doctoral School for clarification of your payment schedule.

 

Payment for continuing students

  • If you are a continuing student with a September start date anniversary:
    • You should expect to receive payment by Monday 26 September 2022 as long as you have completed Online Sign Up by 05 September 2022.
    • After that, maintenance awards will be paid directly into your UK bank account on a quarterly basis (see table below). 
  • If your start date anniversary is not in September:
    • You will not receive your maintenance payment unless you have completed Online Sign Up for the new academic year.
    • You should expect to receive payment of your maintenance within four weeks of your full enrolment, as long as you have entered your UK bank details on Campus Connect.
    • After that, maintenance awards will be paid directly into your UK bank account on a quarterly basis (see table below).

 

If you did not start in September or January, please contact the Doctoral School for clarification of your payment schedule.

 

For the academic year 2022/23, students on a standard payment schedule (with September, January, April start dates) should expect to receive payment of their maintenance award by the dates below.

Please note payment dates around Easter and Christmas may vary due to College closure but will be paid earlier so you will be paid before the first day of the quarter (01 January and 01 April).

I haven’t received my money as expected.  What should I do?

Check that you have:

  • completed all stages of enrolment for the new academic year
  • uploaded your bank details to Campus Connect.

If you have completed both of these steps, contact the Doctoral School so that we can look into this for you.
