Turnitin - how do I get started with it?

Turnitin helps academic departments detect and deter plagiarism and other academic writing issues. It compares submitted work against contemporaneous and previous submissions, web-based resources, digital books and e-journals to generate an originality report which highlights similarities in content.

Turnitin supports tutors in detecting plagiarism, auto plagiarism, collusion, assignment recycling and the use of essay banks.

Please refer to the Avoiding Plagiarism course on Moodle for information on using Turnitin within your department. Additional guidance will be provided by departments - speak to a department administrator if you need further guidance.
