Convenor: Dr Anja Peters

Assessment:

Oral Examination: 50%, Written Examination 50%

Overview:

GM1009 is a core language course for Year 1 students with A-Level in German or equivalent qualifications. The course consists of three components: 1. Grammar, 2. Comprehension, 3. Oral. In the grammar component we will focus on the consolidation and development of your German grammar skills. Each week will be dedicated to a specific grammar topic. In class we will talk about rules and how they are applied and practice these in learning activities. For your homework you will then complete relevant grammar exercises in the course book and writing assignments. The comprehension component focuses on the training and improvement of the four languages skills: Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening. The weekly oral sessions are designed to give you the opportunity to improve your fluency in spoken German.
