Overview
This course provides students with an insight into the richness and diversity of contemporary German Studies, covering literature, film, history, and theory. Through four blocks, it introduces students to a range of texts, issues, and methods that are key to their chosen field of study. The first two blocks are concerned with literature and literary theory, the third, with film and film theory. The final block involves an analysis of the questions of history and memory, and the potential of literature to contribute to discussions about the German past.
