In October 2021 the world was focused on the COP26 Global Conference in Glasgow and we were delighted to be involved. Our involvement included organising our own forum as featured in the video below.
The Royal Holloway COP26 Forum involved students, colleagues and members of our local community, and showcased research, teaching and other initiatives by students and colleagues. Royal Holloway has been accredited as an official observer at COP26 in Glasgow, and and ten of our academics, from a range of different departments, reported from the talks themselves. Find out more about some of our academics who attended COP26 here.
As a College, we are also a member of the COP26 Universities Network and have launched our own Sustainability Strategy. Find out more about our Sustainability Strategy here.
The COP26 Forum at Royal Holloway offered a range of events hosted both online and face-to-face, from a student-chaired panel with local councillors debating decarbonisation plans for our local area, to discussions and workshops on literature and climate catastrophe.

From 27 October to the last day of the COP26 talks in Glasgow, a number of our researchers wrote a series of blog posts that relate to each of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Read the blogs by clicking on the box below.
