The 27th United Nations Climate Change Conference, more commonly known as the Conference of the Parties of the UNFCC (COP), took place between Sunday 6 and Friday 18 November 2022.

As a university, we are a member of the UK Universities Climate Network and to celebrate COP27 a number of our researchers and academics wrote a series of blogs that relate to the conference thematic days and also link to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

For further information about the 17 SDGs goals and how they connect to the interests and priorities of COP please read our previous blogs prepared in advance of COP26, last year.

On campus activities

To celebrate COP27 our Catering team planned various activities across our Egham campus. Find out more.

During COP27 Liz Schafer lead a series of eco-walks around our Egha, campus. Did you know that the largest recorded Algerian oak on earth lives on the Royal Holloway Egham campus? Do you know where the Roman village (probably) lies buried? Do you know why Canada Copse is so named? If you are interested in taking a walk and finding out more, please email Liz (
