Basic report writing

What is it?

This workshop is designed for anyone starting out on writing reports or beginning to create documents to present to other colleagues. 

Programme objectives

  • How to create a report structure; including choosing what sections are required.
  • How to draw together relevant content.
  • How to provide suitable evidence in an appropriate format (e.g. statistical data, subjective summaries).
  • How to, and when to, use an appendix to a report.
  • How to use Plain English and how to measure the content of a report for accessibility.
  • How to create a document which is accessible for all users, considering accessibility topics.
  • Consider the style of documents which best serve the needs of Royal Holloway.
  • Ensure reports are fit for purpose and relevant.
