From 1-8 December, as a College we will be taking part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge. Throughout the week online donations will be matched with pledged funding, meaning that donation amounts are doubled until we reach this year’s target of £100,000.
1. What is the Big Give Christmas challenge?
The Big Give Christmas Challenge runs from 1-8 December, launching on #givingTuesday, an international day for giving back. During this time there is the unique opportunity for online donations to be matched with pledged funding, meaning that donation amounts are doubled until we reach our target.
2. Does the campaign run every year?
This is our fifth year of participating in the event and to-date the Big Give Christmas Challenge has raised over £364,000 to help support students.
3. How can colleagues take part and get involved?
It’s very easy to donate online and only takes around two minutes via royalholloway.ac.uk/biggive.
4. Does the College have a target this year?
This year’s total fundraising target is £100,000!
5. How will the money raised be spent?
For many students, the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic has caused additional financial hardship. The funds will cover scholarships and support programmes that will give our students extra help in these extraordinary times, helping them to fulfil their potential and achieve their goals.
