The National Student Survey (NSS) 2021 results were published on Thursday 15 July. We achieved good scores and there is significant evidence that the hard work of colleagues paid off in terms of student satisfaction, which has been demonstrated within the student comments. Although, our overall student satisfaction score is down on previous years, we remain in a strong relative position compared to other institutions and were positioned third out of 11 against our top-ten UCAS competitors for overall satisfaction.
The 2020/21 academic year was unlike any other, but what matters is the longer term trend. When this year’s results are put into the context of the previous two years, they tell a very different story than the headline of a drop in overall student satisfaction and there are some excellent good practice and successful scores in our subject outcomes. Our Strategic Planning team have carried out an analysis of our results and this can be viewed here.
