Academic Board is seeking nominations to fill a vacancy in the membership category of elected Members of Academic Staff who shall be elected by and from the Members of Academic Staff. In line with the definition provided in the Statutes, a Member of Academic Staff means ‘any person appointed to a post designated by the Council as academic staff of the College.’

This vacancy has arisen following the election of Dr Donna Brown to the College Council, and in adherence to the Standing Orders of the Academic Board which advise that an elected member of Council cannot hold an elected position on the Academic Board. 

If you are interested in serving on the Academic Board or would like to nominate a colleague, please complete the attached nomination form. All nominations must include the names of the proposer and a seconder, and the nominee’s consent.

The term of office of the newly-elected member will run from 1 October 2021 to 30 September 2023, in accordance with the provisions made in the Standing Orders for filling a vacancy which arises before the designated end of a term of office. The first meeting of Academic Board for the newly-elected members will take place on Wednesday 8 December 2021.

All nominations must be received by Dr Jon Howden-Evans, Director of Student and Academic Services (AcademicBoardrhul.ac.uk) no later than 5pm on Tuesday 9 November 2021. 

If more than one nomination is received an election will be held, by electronic means. The timetable for an election would be:

Voting opens

Tuesday 30 November 2021

Voting closes

 

Thursday 2 December 2021

 

Announcement of successful candidate; the election result of votes cast for each candidate will be published on the staff intranet.
