Dear Colleagues

I am pleased to report that Professor Christos Tsinopoulos will be joining the College as the new Executive Dean of the School of Business and Management from Monday 26 September. Christos was selected as an outstanding candidate as a result of an extensive appointment process. He brings significant expertise in engagement with external partners, businesses, and policy makers to support interdisciplinary research and impact activities.

I would also like to thank Professor Gloria Agyemang for the outstanding job she has done as Executive Dean, particularly for leading the formation of the School in the new structure and achieving significant growth in student numbers in recent years.

Christos is currently Associate Dean for External Engagement and Professor of Operations and Project Management at Durham University Business School, where he leads the executive education unit and its impact activities.  He was the Head of Department of Management and Marketing between 2019 and 2022, during a period of significant change and restructuring. He has been a trustee of the Society for the Advancement of Management, a member of the executive committee of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers' Manufacturing Excellence awards, and a visiting professor in universities in Greece (Athens), USA (Fuqua) and China (Harbin and Hunan). His work has been published in the top journals in the field of operations and technology management, is frequently funded by industrial partners nationally and internationally, and informs policy, for example Brexit, supply chain shortages and the effects of open innovation.

Christos is a proud father of two boys and a keen sailor. I hope you will join me in welcoming Christos to our community.

Kind regards

Professor Tracy Bhamra

Senior-Vice Principal
