On Wednesday 20 June
, Senior Vice-Principal (Academic) Katie Normington, along with colleagues from the Employability Working Group, introduced colleagues to our new Careers Aspiration Strategy
at a launch event. The briefing outlined what we can do to further improve how we equip our students to succeed in a competitive global workplace.
The framework 'Your career starts here: Evaluate. Explore. Enact', will bring together the College’s services and support to create a coherent careers achievement plan, the purpose of which is to help all students to clarify their career options and be best prepared for their career aspirations. It draws upon the wide variety of resources that sit both within and beyond the College. The framework will also help to support departments regarding subject-level TEF and enable our alumni to achieve good graduate outcomes.
Colleagues who attended the launch event in the Event Space, Davison Building, made some interesting questions and points; these will inform how we shape the framework for both colleagues and students.
Input from colleagues is still very welcome – if you have any questions on the new framework, have feedback you would like to share or want to get involved, please email the Careers & Employability Service team.
