On Wednesday 24 October, a record-breaking 1,234 students attended the Careers & Employability Service’s annual Careers Fair to explore their options with 37 employers and education providers, who were recruiting for graduate roles, internships, placements and insight days, as well as further study
Many of this year’s employers including; DELL, CapGemini, Enterprise Rent-a-Car, EY, FDM, KPMG and Marks & Spencer and the Wellcome Trust, were recruiting for students from all disciplines, allowing them to decide which kind of company they want to work in and evaluate the skills that are required in the graduate workplace. Other companies targeted particular subject areas. Video production specialists Kingdom Creative joined us to meet our Media Arts cohort, and Waterstons IT & Business Consultancy wanted to speak those who study STEM subjects.
Of the employers who attended the fair, 61% said they were more likely to recruit our students as a result of the fair, 81% gave out contact details to students to follow up with them and 97% said they would like to come back for another fair or other on-campus event.
Thank you to all colleagues who promoted the Careers Fair to students, for encouraging them to attend, and to those of you who came along and spoke to employers at the event.
Students still have the opportunity to research and follow up with the employers who attended the fair and can find further information on the Careers Fair web page.
