Monday 21 January
marks the launch of our student survey season. The student survey season runs until Tuesday 30 April
and includes the following surveys: The National Student Survey (NSS), the Royal Holloway Undergraduate survey, the Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES) and, new for this year, a survey for postgraduate taught students run by the Office for Students (OfS), which will launch later in the year in April.
In the coming months, all of our students will be encouraged to share their voice and give their feedback on their experience at Royal Holloway. For final year students taking part in the NSS, this is when they evaluate their entire time at Royal Holloway, from first to final year. The information and insights that we receive from our students through these surveys is invaluable to help us improve the overall experience for our students.
Student surveys are important as they help inform improvement and development decisions at a department and College level. They are also critical for informing how Royal Holloway is seen externally. NSS results
help to inform the choices of many prospective students, both as a metric in their own right and when they are used by newspapers in their league tables.
It is important that all colleagues get behind the student surveys and promote them where appropriate. To support the promotion of the surveys to students we have dedicated Survey Champions who will coordinate the promotional activities for each department. We also have a surveys hub
on the staff intranet with top-tips, helpful resources and guidance on appropriate influence. If you have any suggestions for promoting the surveys, or questions about it, please contact the Internal Communications team.
