At Royal Holloway, the summer term is one of exams and assessments for many of our students. For our final year students, it’s the culmination of three years, perhaps four, of hard work and commitment.
The next few weeks and months will be an anxious time for those students, and throughout this period we provide a range of support designed to help them to manage their wellbeing.
The Student Advisory & Wellbeing team provide support all year around, but during this time will see a peak in demand for guidance about exam anxiety and in providing strategies to manage this. They support students with maintaining a balanced lifestyle and keeping things in perspective throughout the exam period to help minimise stress. CeDAS, the Centre for the Development of Academic Skills, offers free lectures, workshops, drop-ins and 1:1 tutorials on a range of key academic skills across the academic year. Their exam support programme this year includes the Maths Café for exam preparation in Maths and Stats. In addition, the Students' Union stressbuster events
programme includes activities such as, the ever popular Petting Zoo and Disney movie nights, representing a more informal take on wellbeing.
Many teams across the College, from within the academic community and the professional services, will be very active in the coming weeks helping our students to cope and succeed in their goals. Thank you for all that you have done to help our students to reach this point, and for the support I know you will be providing over the coming weeks.
