Working with Collaborators

Collaborator agreements and intellectual property issues

Everyone involved in the research should contribute to and be aware of the data management plan. All collaborators whether from other institutions or commercial partners should be happy with the storage facilities to be used during the research and any data sharing agreements should be decided before research begins.

While many commercial partners may require restrictions on the publication of research data, funders do require that publication of data be considered and should not be restricted without good reason. As a minimum, information describing the research data should be made available via Royal Holloway's implementation of Figshare.

Any potential Intellectual Property issues should be addressed in the planning stages and decisions about ownership addressed.
