I work within the Educational Development team as TALENT Scheme leader and tutor on CAPITAL & inSTIL sessions. I also manage the Teaching and Learning Space. I am fascinated by how people learn and enjoy studying short courses in philosophy and psychology of education and technology enhanced learning.

After completing my degree at Royal Holloway in French and Classics I taught English abroad in various contexts for several years before moving into the further education sector in the UK. During this time I taught teenagers and adults on General English, EAP and Access courses and worked in a cross-college teacher education role and as a CELTA trainer in adult education.

I have had the opportunity to study several courses over the years, including a PGCE in PCET, DELTA, PgDip TESOL and certificate in Teaching Learners with Specific Learning Difficulties. More recently I have completed a PgDip in Education and an MSc in Technology Enhanced Learning. As part of the MSc TEL I carried out action research on the use of a class wiki with teenagers and later explored how best to embed social web tools on an initial teacher education course in higher education, using a co-design approach. My research interests include blended learning in curriculum design and the higher education experiences of students with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and other developmental disabilities.
