I am the Head of the the Educational Development team in its strategic roles of leading and supporting educational enhancement at RHUL, and the professional development of research students.

My key individual responsibilities are in leading and developing College-wide initiatives in educational enhancement. I am also responsible for the continuing professional development of RHUL staff involved in teaching and supporting learning, and their reward and recognition.

I am the College's Principal Tutor, leading and supporting the development of Personal Tutor schemes College-wide.

I started out in biomedical research in cancer research institutes. From 1999 to 2006 I was a member of the academic staff in the School of Biological Sciences at RHUL. After a period of teaching science in secondary schools, I returned to RHUL to join the Educational Development team in 2008.

My qualifications include a BA (Hons) in Biochemistry and a PhD in Molecular Biology. I hold Qualified Teacher Status, and am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
