Under the Equality Act 2010 Religion and Belief is a protected characteristic, where (a) religion means any religion and includes a reference to a lack of religion; and (b) belief means any religious or philosophical belief and includes a reference to a lack of belief.
Our College Community comprises staff and students from a range of religious backgrounds, including people with different beliefs and non-beliefs. Discrimination on the grounds of religion, belief and non-belief will not be tolerated at Royal Holloway.
The Chaplaincy at Royal Holloway works with students and staff of any faith or belief, with full time chaplains from the Church of England and the Roman Catholic Church and a part-time Muslim Chaplain. Everybody is welcome at the services services and events.
There are Christian services in the Chapel every week day and on Sundays during term time.
These range from 15 minutes of reflection at Morning Prayer (Monday – Friday 8.45am), to the musical delights of Choral Evensong (Thurs 6.15pm).The Muslim Prayer Room is open for daily prayers. Friday Prayers on campus are at 1.15pm (terms one and two only) and are held in Wetton’s Annexe A.
The Chaplaincy Office is in Founder's West 169, and is usually open in working hourse; please do drop in if you would like to talk to someone. You can also contact each chaplain directly to make an appointment:
