What is it?

Allyship is one of Royal Holloway's four core equality, diversity and inclusion e-learning courses. This training course introduces you to the concepts of allyship and being an active bystander, with the aim of fostering a safe, inclusive campus where everyone feels connected to the College, supported to be themselves and reach their true potential.

Target audience

The workshop is mandatory for all staff (academic and professional services).

Programme content and objectives

The course introduces participants to the concept of authentic allyship and why it is important, with guidance on how to put allyship into practice. It includes a range of scenarios giving participants the opportunity to explore and think about safe and effective intervention strategies, and also to reflect on their own practices, including language use and behaviours. 

Course length

Approximately 30-40 minutes.
