Networking for researchers


If you are put off networking because you believe it is all about elevator pitches and shameless self-promotion then you may want to take this opportunity to view it differently. This short session is one of three new workshops focusing on skills key to getting the most from your career.

What is it?

A short workshop examining how you can increase your confidence and skill in networking to help you build and shape the job or career you want.

Target audience

All Academic and Research staff who would like to further develop their Networking skills

Programme objectives

  • Examine your beliefs about networking and how they may hold you back
  • Understand how to remain your authentic self, whilst building relationships and making helpful contacts
  • Practical tips and techniques for creating your own networking strategy and plan
  • Getting the most from digital and online networking

Pre-workshop work

Participants complete a personal Networking Questionnaire
