Safeguarding and Research


 

What is it?

The session will be led by Professor Tim Unwin. Tim has provided safeguarding training to the £20 m DFID/World Bank funded EdTech Hub and the £20 m UKRI GCRF South-South Migration Hub, where he also serves as Safeguarding Confidant.  He has completed the Core 2 Lay Leadership Safeguarding training provided by the Diocese of Guildford.  He was Head of the Geography Department at Royal Holloway in the late-1990s and is also a qualified workplace mediator

All academic and research staff - in particular those working with partners overseas

Programme Objective

The aim of this session is to ensure that researchers have appropriate training and support to recognise and accept that they have a responsibility to safeguard (protect) those they work with from abuse and harm.
