Business writing and presentation


 

Professionalism and good business communication are essential to managing and promoting the activities of the College and its departments. These courses aim to enable staff across the College to develop skills in business writing and presentation skills.

Basic report writing

This workshop is aimed at all those wishing to develop their skills in how they write effective communication to inform and/or influence others. Delegates will explore a range of techniques to bring their ideas together to create reports which are relevant and pertinent to their environment.

Business writing skills

This workshop will assist delegates in knowing what style of writing to choose for a range of different occasions. Delegates will explore the purpose of the communication and the audience, the impact and outcomes required. The workshop will consider the impact of different styles, e.g. using brief emails against letter style emails.

Notes and minute taking

Building confidence in this area is essential, so this workshop will take the delegates through a range of examples, styles and skills required to create excellent notes and minutes.

Presentation skills

You will explore a range of techniques to create effective presentations, ensure content is accessible and interesting. It is important that you know who you are presenting to and what they need to know in order to create your presentation. The workshop will demonstrate a range of resources including powerpoint, Presie, flip charts, white boards, smart boards post-it notes and discuss when and how to use these with impact.
