The Spade Brigade sessions are open to colleagues and students who want to connect with our gardens and get stuck into campus. Sign-ups will go live on Eventbrite, and it’s first-come, first-served but please do sign up to the waiting list to help us understand the levels of interest!
Join us on Wednesday 18 February from 12pm-2pm to learn more about the wildlife that uses our Egham campus.
During the session we will be using the Inaturalist App to walk site and identify and record any wildlife we see, to aid conversation and learning around the rich biodiversity of our site.
You will need to download the app avaliable on all smart phones ready for the session, and bring sturdy foot ware. We can cater the sessions to look at different features in the landscape from meadow plants, tree species to invertebrates.

We will be planting a range of Bee Orchid plug plants along with cuckoo flower and cowslips.
Meet at the Boilerhouse Cafe with sturdy shoes and claoths ready for digging.
Two years ago we paired with Kew Gardens to help us propigate our own Bee Orchids from site to help improve populations. We provided them with a pland and seed and they expertly propogated plants for us to return back to the campus.
Join us to be part of this event to increase the bee orchid population on site, along with planting spring flowering Cuckoo flower and cowslips.
These all help us to increase the floral diversity, aesthetics and biodiversity of our special campus. Book your place.
Join us and the charity Dream for Trees to come and plant young trees as part of our woodland restoration.
Meet at the Exit Car park (Car park 12) ready for 10am on Sunday 8 March. (Enter the main entrance, take an immediate right and continue to the car park near the exit).
We will be working with the charity Dream for Trees, who have generaously donated trees and volunteered to help plant them as part of our woodland restoration. Joining the event will be volunteers from Matrix Chambers Barristers, and will collborate to lean about the woodland works and plant the future generation of trees.
Participants will need to come in outdoor cloaths, sturdy footware (not trainers), and ready to have some fun in the outdoors. Book your place.
