We have created a series of bitesize learning resources for you to continue your learning around equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Being an active bystander (7 minutes)
This session will run through what being an active bystander means, the Golden Rule of intervention, practical examples of types of intervention, and useful intervention phrases that you can use.
Additional activity: A set of four interactive scenarios created by MIT, which let you let you explore the consequences of different approaches in various situations as a group or individually.
Microaggressions: Where are you REALLY from? (8 minutes)
This session looks at microaggressions, or brief and commonplace acts which may not be deliberate, but can have a cumulative harmful impact on people from marginalised backgrounds. It also looks at microaffirmations or microaffiliations, or small ways in which we can be intentionally inclusive.
Additional activity: A link to a video on microaggressions by the University of Wolverhampton, with some discussion points.
Unconscious bias (7 minutes)
This session focuses on unconscious bias, the different ways in which it can manifest, and the impact of unconscious bias on our behaviour and decision making if left unchecked.
