Meet your Peer Guide Leader - Billy

Biological Sciences

Peer Guide Billy IMG 2

Name: Billy

Department: Biological Sciences

Course: Biology

Hobbies: I guess I could be summed up with the phrase "I love trees" but I try to do a little more than just tree hugging. When I'm not out looking for deer or lost in the woods, I'm might be found jogging around campus, trying my hand at natural photography, or moonwalking in the SU!

Why did you want to be a Peer Guide leader?: I love sharing and talking about my degree because it’s easy to forget how odd it can get at times! The role of Peer Guide Leader is exciting as it allows me to help match new students to a person who is best suited to supporting them- whether that is because they are on the same degree stream, or perhaps they both commute to campus.

How can having a Peer Guide help a first year student?: The Peer Guide scheme is a wonderful thing to be a part of, as it can be invaluable at uni to have someone to turn to that really understands what you're going through! However much you choose to use your Peer Guide, we're here to help! This could be from advice on how to make the most of lab sessions, to the many ways in which to enjoy your free time on campus- a favourite of mine being Windsor Great Park (I recommend visiting at least 4 times a year – once for each season)!
