Meet your Peer Guide Leader - Courtney

Media Arts

PGL Courtney

Name: Courtney

Department: Media Arts (and English)

Course: English and Film Studies

Hobbies: Walking, gardening, volunteering (I lead a project called the ‘Elderly Tea Party’ which brings the local community onto campus to socialise).

Why did you want to be a Peer Guide leader?: I wanted to be a Peer Guide Leader because I want to make the process of pairing new students with Peer Guides work as effectively as possible. It also means that I can offer more information and guidance to Peer Guides, through the help of the Campus Engagement team and the department.

How can having a Peer Guide help a first year student?: Having a Peer Guide is very beneficial to new students as it can help make them feel more comfortable and confident when starting university. I believe that having a Peer Guide can help you make the most of your first year at university because they can give you tips and tricks about your course, the campus and things to do in the local area.
