Hi, I'm Ryan. I am a PhD student in the Earth Sciences Department here at Royal Holloway. Despite being a postgraduate student I completed my undergraduate course at Royal Holloway too in 2018. I believe that my time here has allowed for me to have a good understanding of how student life works at Royal Holloway, putting me in a great position to run Peer Guidance for the School of Life Sciences and the Environment.

When I started here in 2015 I found it difficult to adjust to some aspects of university life, not really finding my feet for some time. I felt that I missed out on how great the beginning of university can be and so I wanted to become a Peer Guide to help new students coming after me to settle in smoothly. Having taken on multiple roles within the Peer Guidance scheme over my time at Royal Holloway I have seen how beneficial Peer Guides can be for new students. I’m excited to help the scheme expand and provide the best student to student support possible during this new academic year
