Challenges Abroad’s programmes last three weeks and are designed to be mutually beneficial both to students who participate and to the local communities. Their opportunities for sports volunteering centre around their community challenge in Battambang, Cambodia. Here there is scope to run different sports sessions as well contribute to the community more generally by teaching and helping to refurbish the schools. Challenges Abroad also offer the opportunity for groups of 8 or more to head out on their own project, which is a great opportunity for a sports team that would like to take on a project themselves. Think Pacific’s project lasts one month and is based around the beautiful islands of Fiji, allowing volunteers to see Fiji through the eyes of local people and return home with a second home and second family. Volunteers will experience life in a remote village and help to provide one-to-one tuition as well as coach sport to young children.
