Want to take a break from exam revision with a rewarding volunteering session? We have hand-picked some of our best volunteering opportunities for you to take part in over the exam period. 

Volunteering is a fantastic way to spend some time in the local community and make a genuine difference to people's lives. Volunteering has a whole range of physical and mental health benefits, so it is a fantastic way of breaking up your revision schedule! 

Be sure to let the organisers of the projects know you are coming, so that they can plan for numbers and travel.

Nature Conservation - Help cut down trees in the local woodlands! 

Dates: 24 April, 1 May 

Time: 1.30-4pm 

Meeting place: Founders' Bus Stop 

Activity: Join us to cut down invasive trees at Cooper's Hill with our community partner the National Trust.

Runnymede Foodbank - Gathering donations for local people in need

Dates: 26 April, 27 April, 29 April, 5 May, 6 May, 13 May,

Meeting place: Various, see Facebook page for information. Usually supermarkets in the local area. 

Activity: Help to gather donations for Runnymede Foodbank, a fantastic organisation that supports local people in need.

Love Your Community - Litter Collecting and Gardening! 

Dates: 28 April, 5 May, 12 May

Time: 11am-12noon 

Meeting place: Outside Waitrose in Egham 

Activity: Supporting a gardening project in Egham, as well as litter picking and tidying!

Sing-Along Surrey - Go into local care homes and sing songs! 

Dates: 29 April, 6 May, 13 May 

Time: 2pm-4pm

Meeting place: Founder's Clock Tower

Activity: Singing songs with the residents of Merlewood care home!

Community Research @ the Lit - Take part in excellent research projects

Activity: Join our Community Research team as they conduct exciting research projects in the local community.

ESOL Tutoring - English tutoring with young refugees

Meeting place: Founder's Building Reception 

Activity: Join the ESOL team to visit a refugee centre for young people in Uxbridge. Transport is provided, but please let us know if you wish to attend!

Activity: Head into Fernlea care home to run sessions with the elderly residents focusing on technlogy
