1 July 2021 - Graduate route opens, DES closes, EUSS, & exceptional assurance

There are many major changes to the immigration landscape in the UK today, especially in regards to international students. 

  • The Graduate route is now open, however we strongly recommend you take a look at our previous update below with regards to the route so that you understand how, and when to apply
  • The Doctorate Extension Scheme which offered PhD graduates a 1 year visa to find work post-study has now closed for all new applicants
  • The deadline for most EU/EEA/Swiss nationals to apply under the EU Settlement Scheme has now passed; you may still be eligible to apply, if you require further guidance please contact the International Advice team
  • The exceptional assurance scheme has been extended to include anyone with visas expiring before 30 September 2021

11 June 2021 - Covid-19 concession updates

Today the Home Office have updated the concessions relating to the impact of covid-19 on visa holders.

The most important update relates to the Graduate route; students who began a course of 12 months or less in 2020 via distance learning, and who have not previously entered the UK to study now must arrive in the UK either before their visa ends or by 27 September 2021, whichever is sooner. This removes the previous date of 21 June 2021.

There are also new changes that impact those looking to apply for Student visas in the UK. If you have questions regarding any of these further changes, please get in touch.
