Welcome to the advice hub for care experienced students
If you are in care, or have experience of being in care at a younger age, we understand you may have specific concerns about starting at univeristy, or needs that will require support.
There is a lot of support available here for care experienced students - from help with money advice, accommodation, developing your belonging and settling in to your new home.
What do we mean by care experienced?
Being care experienced means you will have spent time living with foster carers under local authority care, in residential care (for example, a children’s home), looked after at home under a supervision order, or in kinship care with relatives or friends, either officially (for exmaple, a special guardianship order) or informally without local authority support. Being care experienced refers more broadly to anyone who has spent time in care at any stage of their life. (Text via UCAS)
