If you’re studying an undergraduate course at Royal Holloway and have children, adult dependants, or a disability, you may be eligible for extra financial support from Student Finance England. These grants and allowances do not usually need to be repaid and are designed to help you meet additional study‑related costs.
Please note that postgraduate students are only able to apply for support via the DSA.

The Childcare Grant helps full‑time students with the cost of registered childcare.
You may be eligible if you have a dependent child under 15, or under 17 with special educational needs, and you meet other Student Finance England requirements. The grant can cover up to 85% of childcare costs, capped weekly depending on how many children you have.

Disabled Students’ Allowance provides additional support if you have a disability, long‑term health condition, mental‑health condition, or specific learning difficulty.
DSA can help cover the cost of specialist equipment, non‑medical support, and study‑related travel. It is not based on household income, and the amount you get depends on your assessed needs.
Our Disability and Neurodiversity Team can help you with your needs assessment and application.
