What is Investment Management?

¾ of British households use the services of an investment management company to ensure they have the money they need for the future, mostly in the form of a pension. This money is invested in a number of ways from company shares to large property projects like the creation of the Olympic Park through to supporting the development of pioneering new treatments for cancer – investment management is at the heart of it all. The sector employs around 100,000 people in the UK alone and Investment 20/20 is responsible for promoting around 200 x 12 month trainee vacancies for graduates each year - helping you get a foot in the door and supporting the first step on your career journey. These jobs are to work in one of 50 different investment management firms, in a paid job and supported by a training programme to give you the knowledge and the networks you need to succeed.

Most people assume that an investment management firm only employs people in finance and accounting jobs – we need people doing those jobs but we also need marketing and communications people including social media experts, also legal specialists (often referred to as compliance), technology gurus to make the systems money is traded on happen efficiently to name but a few. This is your opportunity to find out more and ask questions!
