The National Student Survey (NSS) 2019, published today (3 July 2019) shows that we have again exceeded the sector average score for overall satisfaction.
Our score for overall student satisfaction has risen to 88%, four percentage points above the sector average. We have also scored higher than 21 of the 22 Russell Group universities which appear in the survey.*
The NSS, which is an independent student survey carried out by the Office for Students on behalf of the UK higher education funding and regulatory bodies, is used by universities and colleges as well as student unions to drive improvements across multiple areas of students’ academic experience. It is also used by prospective students to help inform their decision making about which university to choose and what to study. The survey captured the views of over 330,000 students across the UK.

“We place a high value in the quality of the teaching, so I am also pleased that the individual score for course teaching which NSS captures is among the highest across UK universities. This demonstrates that the investment we make in research-led teaching is equally valued by our students.

*The universities of Oxford and Cambridge are part of the Russell Group but are not represented in the published NSS data.
