Following the evacuation of a number of buildings on campus in response to the receipt of a suspect package, the package has now been identified by the police as being not suspicious and all evacuated buildings have been reopened.
Update as of 1.15pm
Following the identification of a suspect package at the George Eliot postroom, it has been necessary to evacuate the following buildings:
- Emily Wilding Davison
- Windsor
- Moore
- Computer Centre
- All College buildings on the north campus
This evacuation is part of standard procedure in relation to suspect packages.
Students on the north campus are being directed towards The Packhorse, Podium and Pad, and on the south campus towards the Hub, sports centre and Gower and Wedderburn Hall.
At this stage we cannot confirm the duration of the evacuation and are working closely with the police to determine the nature of the package.
