On Friday 20 September, UCU is hosting a lunchtime event ‘Not Business as Usual’ discussing what the College might do better as far as the environment is concerned and there will three short presentations. The event will take place in the Events Space, Davison Building, from 12.30 to 2.30pm and refreshments will be served. The event is open to students, staff and others in the Royal Holloway community. No tickets needed.

Presentations

Barry Langford, Professor of Film Studies, will offer a provocation on banning meat on university campuses.

Alice Carter-Champion, PhD student in Geography, will speak on understanding past climate changes in the context of a current climate emergency.

Redell Olsen, Professor of Poetry and Poetics in the English Department, will speak about environmental issues and creative practice.

In addition, UCU will be launching a competition aimed at determining the safest route to cycle to campus.
