Our annual services of Nine Lessons and Carols led by our Multifaith Chaplaincy team (Directorate of Student Life) were truly inclusive with readings representing all three Abrahamic faiths – Judaism Christianity, and Islam.  These included lessons from the Old and New Testaments of the Bible, and the Qur’an including readings in Arabic and Hebrew.

Following these services, we are pleased to be able to share the charity donations we have supported through the congregation collection. This year the charity chosen by the team is the UNICEF Ukraine Refugee Response Appeal, specifically Humanitarian Action for Children. The charity supports those in need with humanitarian assistance, access to safe drinking water, mental health support to children and caregivers, and access to education. Through the generous contributions of our congregations over the three services a donation of £1,533.48 has been made to this charity. A donation of £400 has also been made to the  Founder’s Choir, who sing at one of the services each year, to support their work.

Thank you to all the students who supported and participated in these services: Daniel Ayres, Evaldas Barstys, Luke Cherry, Elisabeth Egel, Barney Glazebrook Higgs, Nathaniel King, Kipling Lemon, Eliot Mead, Sofie Palmer, James Perrin, Jared Tan, and all members of the Choir of Royal Holloway and the Founder’s Choir.
