In this presentation, taking place on Monday 9 December from 1pm on Microsoft Teams, Dr Amy Bonsall will draw upon her recent article published in the Feminist Review (August 2024), which draws together the experiences of a number of female academia who have a recognised disability. Amy is currently drafting the methods paper to accompany this article. 

Speaker's bio

Dr Bonsall is an Honorary Affiliate of the Gender Institute and Honorary Professor at the University of Kent. Amy is a co-founder and co-director of the Women in Academica Support Network (WiASN). A professional network for academics who identify as women (as used by AdaCamp "trans women, genderqueer women, and non-binary people who are significantly female-identified), Cis women and Cishet women to share their expereinces of professional and family life. The Network has some 15,500 members. 

Amy is an accomplished theatre director and scholar. She is especially interested in the intersection where gender, creativity and performativity and networking co-exist. Amy's monograph "Shakespeare in Malawi: power and performace" will be published by Palgrave as part of their Global Shakespeare book seiex.

Amy is also a Director of LLB Inclusive Employment, which supports disabled individuals to navigate the world of work with confidence and ease.
