An essential update to how you access Senate House Library (SHL) resources is coming on Tuesday 11 November.

SHL is switching to a new single sign-on authentication method, like what we already use at Royal Holloway. This change will resolve recent access issues caused by SHL’s library system upgrade and make logging in simpler and more secure.

What’s Changing?

  • Use your Royal Holloway email address to register and log in.
  • Visit SHL’s Library Search, click 'Sign In' (top right), then choose 'Sign in with Email'.
  • You’ll be redirected to the Royal Holloway Microsoft login page.
  • You may be asked to complete Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) depending on your device and recent activity.
  • If you’ve previously registered with SHL using your RHUL email, your account will link automatically, and login should be seamless.

Full details on how to join and access SHL are available on their website.
