We recognise that news from the Middle East may be deeply upsetting or worrying for many in our community. If recent events are affecting your wellbeing, please remember that you’re not alone and support is available.

Where you can find help:

  • Wellbeing Support. Our advisors are here to listen in a caring and supportive environment. You can drop in any weekday between 11am – 2pm in Founder’s East (room 133) on the Egham campus. You can also contact the team by email to arrange an online appointment or to receive advice.

  • Chaplaincy. The Chaplaincy team offers a welcoming, confidential space for anyone who would like to chat or take time to reflect.

  • Academic support. If current events are impacting your studies, please speak to your Personal Tutor or your School Helpdesk

For students affected by travel disruption

Stay safe and follow official guidance. If you’re currently abroad, please follow the latest Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office travel advice and any instructions from local authorities, including safety alerts and movement restrictions.

Please complete an authorised absence form if you expect to miss more than five days. For visa holders, this makes sure we can record your absence correctly and ease your re-entry to the UK.

We cannot deliver academic lectures remotely, but support will be available from your Personal Tutor and Module Leader with provision of content through Moodle and online meetings during your absence as requested. If you’re unable to complete assessments as a result of your absence, please follow our existing Extension and Extenuating Circumstances processes.

We’ll provide further updates here on the student intranet if the current travel disruptions continue for a longer period.

You can find further details about the support available to you on the student intranet.
