The weather will continue to be cold and icy this weekend. Temperatures are predicted to increase today, Sunday 4 March.

There could potentially be rain showers over the weekend.

The intranet will be updated with information about changes to the conditions on campus.

Please note that there will be no refuse collection, tomorrow Saturday 3 March. Service should resume on Monday 5 March, unless you hear otherwise.

  • Car parks have patches of ice and students are advised to take extra care when driving in these areas.
  • Paths are slippery in places and appropriate footwear is recommended.
  • Extra care is required on the paths in and around Founder’s Square and Founder’s Quads, in areas of Kingswood and along Windsor Gap (between the Davison Building and Windsor Building).
  • All roads, paths and car parks will continue to be inspected, cleared and treated with grit as appropriate.
  • All events are going ahead this weekend, unless you hear otherwise.

Campus is open as normal, it is safe to operate and our key services will be provided. Public transport links are operating and you are expected to travel to the College (as appropriate) if you can do so safely.

Classes will continue as normal, unless you hear otherwise. If you're unable to make classes, we advise that you email your department as per the standard departmental absence reporting procedures.

We understand that weather situations are varied and no-one should put their personal safety at risk to access campus.

  • Car parks have patches of ice and students are advised to take extra care when driving in these areas.
  • All paths are open. Surfaces are slippery in places and appropriate footwear is recommended.
  • Extra care is required on the paths in and around Founder’s Square and Founder’s Quads.

Campus continues to open as normal, it is safe to operate and our key services will be provided. 

  • All areas of campus are accessible.
  • Caution is advised in pedestrian areas where patches of snow and ice have formed. Accessible routes have been cleared and areas with a high footfall such as Founder's Square, have been gritted.
  • Forecasts for the rest of today are that there is potential for snow showers. With the gritting and clearance measures that are already in place, these conditions are manageable.

  • Roads and footpaths have been gritted overnight and were clear of snow at 6am. Normal access is possible.
  • Car parks have patches of snow and ice but are accessible. Caution is advised when driving in these areas.
  • Founder’s Square and areas of Kingswood have patches of ice and extra care is required in these areas. Further gritting will be carried out this morning.

Campus is open and operating normally.  During the day, main routes were gritted but colleagues / students [as appropriate] should take care as there may be ice underfoot.
