From Monday 18 - Friday 29 June, our Estates Department will be carrying out a water validation exercise to trace the underground mains water services on campus.

During the course of the work, water supplies will be isolated for short periods of time usually for around five or ten minutes. As most buildings have water tanks it is unlikely that a loss of water will be noticed, however, if you do find that your water supply is not working at any point during this two week period, please contact the Estates Service Desk on 01784443062 or email maintenanceservicesroyalholloway.ac.uk, advising of your location and the facilities that have been affected.

Further update (Tuesday 19 June):

As part of the water validation exercise to trace the underground mains water services the contractors, Watertight, will be completing an essential survey overnight from 12.30-1.30am on the morning of Thursday 21 June. During this time they will be temporarily isolating the mains water feed to the entire main campus.

However, as most buildings have their own water tanks it is unlikely that a loss of water will be noticed, however,  if you do find that your water supply is not working on Thursday please contact the Estates Service Desk on 01784443062 or email maintenanceservicesroyalholloway.ac.uk and advise of your location and the facilities that have been affected. A plumber will then be sent out to resolve the issue.

The contractor will be driving around the campus to test the water lines, however do not require access to any buildings. Their vehicles will be clearly identifiable and for safety will have their flashing lights turned on, there will be no noise disruptions.

Thank you for your assistance during this essential work.
