Yesterday we launched our Vote Because campaign to inspire young people, including our students, to register to vote before the deadline of 22 May. And once they've registered to exercise their vote and make sure their voices are heard.

You can see why we think this is so important in our video, which we shared on our social media channels.

Now, you may be wondering why we care so much about people using their vote. It's because of our ties with the Suffrage movement. In fact, we're naming our new Library and Student Services Centre after one of the most famous Suffragettes; alumna Emily Wilding Davison.

You can explore our other ties to the suffrage movement through our Women Inspire highlights.

If you want to get involved with our campaign and share your passion, tell us why you'll be voting on 8 June on social media using #votebecause
