Profile I received my BA, MA and PhD in English Language and Literature and began my academic career teaching a variety of undergraduate courses such as Short Story, Poetry, History, Research Techniques and Academic Writing at Bilkent University, Department of English Language and Literature, in Ankara, Turkey. In the UK, I taught English at City and Islington College before joining RHUL in 2003. I am the Programme Leader for the Pre-Masters Diploma for International Students and teach a range of courses on different programmes in addition to developing materials for these. I am particularly interested in the development and assessment of academic reading and writing skills and improvement of students’ confidence in conducting research and writing longer pieces of work such as projects and dissertations. I am interested in twentieth century literature and culture, multiculturalism and postcolonial studies and have developed materials for different courses focusing on these areas.
